MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 1894 MEETING OF INSTOW PARISH COUNCIL


HELD AT INSTOW JUBILEE HALL ON 4th DECEMBER 1894

Parish of Instow

Pursuant to an order from the Local Government Board a "parish meeting" was held on Tuesday the 4th day of December 1894 in the Jubilee Hall to elect Parish Councillors for the parish of Instow.

Meeting was opened at 6 - 30 pm by Mr L Molland, Overseer, the Rev S. C. Haines proposed and Mr Walter Turner seconded that Capt. Chichester R.N. of Rose Cottage, Instow be the chairman of the meeting carried unanimously. Capt. Chichester taking the chair and commencing business by asking for nominations papers at 6-44 o'clock.

The following were then duly nominated.

The Rev S C Haines withdrew, the nomination papers were all carefully examined by the Chairman and numbered as received, read to the meeting in alphabetical order and questions invited. Mr Gaston asked Mr Fulton what was his opinion in regard to Mr L Lock's drainage. Mr Fulton had not formed an opinion, was in favour of Allotments if there was not sufficient demand. The voting was then proceeded with at the close of which a poll was demanded by Mr L. Molland Junr. postmaster. Poll was held by Mr Bromham deputy Returning Officer at the Jubilee Hall Dec. 18th. The following is the particulars of the voting of the meeting and poll.
