Parish of Instow
Lane End Water Supply
Dear Sir
The Parish Council have been informed by Mr Gorton the District Councillor
representing this parish that at the last meeting of the District Council the
question of supplying Lane End with water was postponed for a further period
of 3 months as a water company to supply the whole of Instow was in
contemplation.
Mr Gorton states that complaints have been made to him by inhabitants of Lane
End respecting the delay which is taking place in providing them with a supply
of water.
As this council understands that at least 12 months must elapse before the
scheme for supplying Instow generally can be carried out they desire to urge
upon the District Council the necessity that exists for supplying Lane End
with pure water in the interim.
I am directed to remind the District Council that the medical experts have
strongly condemned the present water supply and that there is grave
responsibility in permitting the existing state of things to continue for so
long a period as 12 months when a remedy can be provided in a few days at a
comparatively small cost.
I am dear sir
Your obedient servant
J.P. England
