Pursuant to notice in accordance with instructions received from the Local
Government Board. A Parish meeting was held in the vestry room for the purpose
of electing Parish councillors for the year commencing April 15th 1898.
The chairman of the Parish Council took the chair at 7.4 and after stating the
object of the meeting asked that nominations be handed in.
Upon a nomination being handed in for the chairman he thereupon vacated the
chair and Col Molloy was elected chairman.
The following is a list of the persons nominated.

2. Easterbrook Wm. A Gardener Sailors Inn
3. Easterbrook John Ganger Railway Cottage
4. Joslin James Farmer Raddy
5. Lock W. Henry Surveyor Springfield
6. Pidler Christopher` Shopkeeper Lane End
7. Pidler William H. F. Merchant Sea View
8. Turner Walter W. Postman Prospect Place
9. Winter George Major (retired) Sea View
There being only nine nominations for the nine seats and the chairman having
decided they were valid declared them duly elected.
A unanimous vote of thanks to the chairman closed the proceedings
