MINUTES OF THE MARCH 6th 1899 MEETING OF INSTOW PARISH COUNCIL


Pursuant to notice in accordance with instructions received from the Local Government Board. A Parish meeting was held in the vestry room for the purpose of electing Parish councillors for the year commencing April 15th 1899.

The chairman of the Parish Council took the chair at 6.40pm and after stating the object of the meeting and waiting the usual time asked that nominations be handed in.

Upon a nomination being handed in for the chairman he vacated the chair and Rev J.B. White was unanimously elected chairman for the evening.

Having decided that the 10 nominations which were valid the chairman proceeded to read the names in alphabetical order as follows:-

1. Thomas Anstey Farmer Knapp
2. John Easterbrook Platelayer Railway Cottage
3. William. A Easterbrook Innkeeper Lane End
4. James Joslin Farmer Raddy
5. W. Henry Lock Surveyor Springfield
6. Alexander Pidler Farmer Down
7. Christopher Pidler General dealer Stone House
8. William H. F Pidler. Coal Merchant Sea View
9. Walter W. Turner Ferryman Prospect Place
10. George Winter Retired Major Sea View

The Chairman remarked that this was in excess of the number required Mr Anstey thereupon withdrew & the remaining 9 were declared duly elected.

A vote of thanks to the Chairman closed the proceedings.
