Dear Sir
Instow Water Supply
Your letter of the 5th inst came before the District Council at their meeting
yesterday. The council have received another letter from Mr Christie wherein
he states that having given the question of the water supply for Lane End
Instow further consideration he was now willing to grant to the council a 14
years lease of the water in question upon payment of an annual acknowledgement
of 1/- a year and subject to the lease being terminated by 6 months notice in
the event of the land being required for building purposes or Instow being
supplied with water from some other source or for any other reasonable cause
or purpose. The Council considered a very handsome offer on the part of Mr
Christie and have adopted a resolution accepting the same and the work will be
proceeded with as soon as the preliminaries have been arranged.
Yours truly
Mr J. P. England W.H. Toller
