Dear Sir
Removal of House Refuse
The District Council at their meeting held on Friday last adopted a resolution
delegating to the Instow Parish Council in pursuance of Sec 42 and 202 of the
Public Health Act 1875 and Sec 15 of the Local Government Act 1894 power to
contract for the removal of house refuse from premises.
I would suggest that your Council draw up and submit for the approval of the
council regulations for carrying out the proposed work and information should
also be supplied to the District Council as to the probable sum which will be
required annually to defray the cost thereof in order that the District
Council might confirm the same.
It will also be necessary for your council to report to the District Council
from time to time the amount expended. I would suggest that this should be
done quarterly. The reports should be accompanied by the necessary accounts
which if found to be correct will be discharged by this council and debited to
the Parish of Instow.
Yours faithfully
Mr J.P England W.H. Toller

Dear Sir
Parish of Instow
Removal of House Refuse
Your letter of the 11th inst to Mr England has been laid before the Parish
Council of Instow and I now send you herewith draft of the agreement which the
council suggest should be entered into with the contractor who undertakes the
work of removal.
The Parish Council has invited tenders from persons willing to undertake the
removal and have received on tender only from John Pidler of Down Farm (a son
of Alexander Pidler) who offers to undertake the work for £16 a year.
If the District Council approve the draft agreement the Instow Parish Council
will hold a meeting and accept Pidler's tender so that the removal of the
refuse can be commenced next week.
Yours faithfully
